Another Painful Blow for Sundance
As some of you may know, Sundance Head lives in a small town not far from me. After Thursday night's elimination from American Idol, the local news channels here reported another painful blow for Sundance.
He found out that his cousin, Burl Head died in a house fire early Thursday morning.
Sundance was not told the tragic news until after the broadcast Thursday.

thanks so much for posting this, carla. a couple of the readers mentioned having heard rumors about it, and even wondering if his elimination was done so he wouldn't have to quit, and i looked, but i couldn't find a thing on it! thanks for clearing it up!
I know I saw that before the show was on Thursday. And I thought that must have been awful for him to be sitting there and knowing that happened and then get get kicked off. But it's a good thing they waited to tell him till after the results, but it's still awful. I feel really bad for him.
oh my! that is awful...my prayers are with him and his family.
I will pray for his family, and when I read that I could not stop crying....it's so sad.

This is sad news....I think that they should have told him when it happened if they didn't inform him then that just adds more pain and confusion to him......not only that but he lost his brother when he was 9 yrs. old. He is quoted as saying, "The toughest obstacle I had to face in my life was growing up after the death of my brother, who died in a car crash a 1/2 mile from my house." He named his sons middle name after his brother (Aron)...Hard life hard times.....prayers out to you and yours Sundance may life only get better and be blessed with your son.
